Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeEarl Hawkins, age 88, of Crowder, MS, died Thursday afternoon, February 23, 2012 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Wells Funeral Home with interment to follow in Crowder Cemetery. Reverend Murphy Eubanks & Reverend David Moore will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. Friday at Wells Funeral Home. Mr. Hawkins was born February 25, 1923 in Holly Ridge, MS to the late Henry Herman and Nannie Alma Jones Hawkins. Earl was a member of Crowder Assembly of God Church and was a commercial fisherman for 71 years. Mr. Hawkins was a very spiritual man that loved his church and family. When he wasn't fishing, he loved being outdoors and hunting. Mr. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Moore Hawkins of Crowder, MS; daughter, Rita Hawkins Garner of Byhalia, MS; son, Tommy Hawkins of Crowder, MS; three sisters, Naomi Hawkins Parkey of Alamo, TN, Shirley Hawkins Arnold of Memphis, TN, Nan Hawkins Ellis of Roan Mt., TN; two grandsons, Chad Tutor (Ruth) of Memphis, TN, Jared Tutor of Taylor, MS; great-granddaughter, Charlie Kate Tutor of Abbeville, MS. Other than his parents, Mr. Hawkins is preceded in death by two sisters, Mattie Hawkins and Ila Hawkins Bradford; four brothers, William, Irvie, James, and Junior Hawkins.
