Charles Matthew Geriner

Charles Matthew "Matt" Geriner, age 48, passed away Tuesday, February 7, 2012 at Golden Living Nursing Home in Batesville, MS. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, February 12, 2012 at 124 Forked Creek Road in Hernando, MS. Matt was born July 25, 1963 in Memphis, TN to Charles Ralph and Linda Townsend Geriner. Matt was a plumber for 34 years and a Sgt. in the Civil Air Patrol, assisting in search and rescue on the base of Columbus Air Force for seven years. Matt was a pilot (his childhood dream) and loved anything related to aviation and history. Matt was a communicant of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hernando, MS. Matt is survived by his wife, Rose Geriner of Courtland, MS; mother, Linda Townsend Geriner of Sardis, MS; daughter, Jennifer Geriner of Jackson, TN; son, Caleb Geriner of Olive Branch, MS; five step-daughters, Mandy Fitts of Southaven, MS, Jessica Fitts of Columbus, OH, Stephanie Copeland of Marks, MS, Angela Coleman (Mike) of Batesville, MS, Karen Earnest (Dale) of Shannon, MS; four sisters, Susan Stallings (Brad) of Hernando, MS, Melinda McGeehe of Hernando, MS, Cindy White (Jody) of Southaven, MS, Barbara Rogers (Keith) of Sardis, MS and nine grandchildren. Matt also leaves behind his maternal grandmother, Louise Townsend of Eudora, MS.
