Reed, III, 74, widower of the late Sue Hastings Reed, passed away Wednesday evening at Tri-Lakes Medical Center in Batesville, MS A life celebration service will be 9:30 A.M. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Wells Funeral Home with visitation begining at 9:00 A.M. prior to the service. Bill was born August 25, 1937 in Memphis, TN to the late William Zenie Reed, II and Vela Louise Flake Reed Pennington. He was an U.S. Army veteren of the Korean War and a retired maintanence engineer. Following his honorable discharge for the Army, Bill joined the Al Chymia Shiners Unity Lodge # 95 in Memphis, TN and later joined the V.F.W. post # 4968 in Batesville, MS. Bill is survived by his daughter, Susanne Reed Woods of Batesville, MS; son, William Z. "Bill" Reed, IV of Batesville, MS; three sisters, Pamela L. Bayne of Colorado, Cherri D. Buchs of Florida, Vela C. Suta of Florida; brother, Charles Albert "Buddy" Reed of Amhurst, OH; six grandchildren, Kenzi R. Reed, Fayte N. Reed, Gauge H. Reed, William Z. "Quint" Reed, V, Dayle Reed and Stephen Colby Reed.
