Click Here To View Video Memorial TributePaul E. Griffin, age 83, passed away Saturday morning at his home in Batesville, MS.
Celebration of life service will be 2:00 P.M. Monday, January 9, 2012 at Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope, MS with burial to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will begin two hours prior to the funeral service at 12:00 noon. Reverend Damon Plummer and Reverend Rayford Ables will be officiating. The pallbearers will be Stan Cannon, Robert Griffin, Bryan Griffin, Corey Griffin, Parker Griffin, John Paul Jenkins, Casey Jenkins and Jason Robertson with Billie Jean Cannon and Sarah Robertson serving as honorary pallbearers.
Mr. Griffin was born April 8, 1928 in Calhoun City, MS to the late Jesse E. and Dera E. Robertson Griffin. Paul honorably served his country in the U.S. Navy and was a retired self-employed aircraft mechanic. He was a faithful member of Hosanna Family Worship Center in Pope, MS and a member of the senior citizen J.O.Y. Club of Hosanna.
Paul is survived by his wife of 50 years, Joan Wheeler Griffin; three daughters, Beverly Hemminger of Paris, TN, Shirley Tatum of Pontotoc, MS, Melinda Jenkins of Batesville, MS; four sons, Lewis Griffin of Utica, MS, Frank Griffin of Greenville, MS, Duane Griffin of Lena, MS, Robert Paul Griffin of Paris, TN; one sister, Mary Lou Vanlandingham of Saltillo, MS; 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Eldon Griffin of Calhoun City, MS.
