Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeElizabeth Newman "Baby" Taylor, age 85, of Pope, MS, widow of Hugh Frank Taylor, passed away on Friday afternoon, 12/2/11, at Golden Living Nursing Facility in Batesville, MS. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, December 5, 2011 at Pope Baptist Church with interment to follow in Chapel Hill Cemetery in Pope, MS. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 4:30 to 7:30 P.M. at Wells Funeral Home. Dr. Gary Berry and Reverend Roger Richards will be officiating. Mrs. Taylor was born July 5, 1926 in Tallahatchie County, MS to the late Oscar Vernon and Jessie Blanch Martin Newman. She was a retired bookkeeper for Lipe Well and Gas Company of Pope, MS. Baby was a faithful member of Pope Baptist Church. Mrs. Taylor is survived by her daughter, Judith Lynne Henagan (Robert) of Elizabeth, LA; two sons, Hugh Gary Taylor (Kenethia) of Kirksey, KY, Tim Taylor (Joy) of Batesville, MS; sister, Belle Newman Lipe of Pope, MS; 14 grandchildren: Amy, Michael, Jason, Judson, Jessica, Joel, Garrett, Kenslie, Amanda, Jacquline, Mackenzie, Jake, Macoy and Avery and 2 step-grandchildren: Charles and James.Preceeded in death by 3 Sisters: Tommie, Inez and Imogene and Brother: Sonny.
