Hugh R. Hunt

Hugh R. Hunt, age 77, died Tuesday afternoon 11/1/11 at Baptist Memorial Hopsital of North Mississippi in Oxford, MS. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2011, at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Keith Gaughf and Reverend Robert Allen officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will follow in Oakland Cemetery, Oakland, MS. Mr. Hunt was born on March 15, 1934 to Fred S. & Vannie McCullar Hunt in Oakland, MS. He worked for Sears in sales and maintenance for 26 years. He also served his country in the United States Army. Mr. Hunt was a member of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Mr. Hunt is survived by his wife, Doris C. Hunt of Water Valley, MS, daughter, Beverly Hunt Witkowski (John) of Peachtree City, GA, son, Dennis Tims (Linda) of Bells, TN, 4 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great granddaughter. Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Ben, Sam and Jack Hunt, and his sisters, Louise Hunt Williams, Ruth Hunt Brown, Kathern Hunt Butler and Ann Hunt Ligon. Memorials may be sent to The National MS Society, 145 Executive Dr., Suite 1, Madison, MS 39110. Serving as pallbearers will be Don Castle, Allan Castle, Bobby Arnold, Johnny Arnold, John Hardy, Gary Castle and Don Keltner.
