Funeral services will be at 3:00 P.M. Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Lee Chapel of First Baptist Church in Batesville, MS with Dr. Robert Self & Dr. Tommy Snyder officiating. Interment will follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Vistation will begin at 1:00 P.M. Sunday in Lee Chapel. Mrs. Sparks was born June 23, 1913 in Cedartown, GA to the late David and Lou Etta Hale West. She was a homemaker and a member of the First Baptist Church of Batesville, MS. She is survived by her two daughters, Julia Faye Durant (David Francis) of Alpine, TX and Janice Barrett of Locust Grove, GA. Mrs. Sparks was also preceded in death by her son Jerry C. Sparks. The family asks that memorials be sent to The First Baptist Church, Samaritan Fund for Diana Moore, 104 Panola Ave., Batesville, MS 38606.
