Richard L. "R.L." Milam

Richard L. "R.L." Milam, age 82, widower of Jean Onkst Milam, passed away at his granddaughters home in Pope, MS on Monday evening, October 17, 2011. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary Berry officiating.  Visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. prior to service.  Inurnment will be at Forrest Memorial Park, Batesville.  Mr. Milam was born October 18, 1928 in Tallahatchie County, MS to the late Graham Purvis and Ethel Driskell Milam.   He was the retired owner of NAPA Auto Parts in Batesville and was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II.  Mr. Milam was also a member of Pope Baptist Church in Pope MS. Mr. Milam is survived by one daughter, Janice M. Mangimelli (D. C.) of Atlanta, GA and one son, Dave Milam (Sherry) of Leeds, AL; one sister, Ruby Milam Newton (Frank) of Enid, MS; one brother, Clyde Milam (Lorraine) of Metairie, LA; 10 Grandchildren and 16 Great-Grandchildren.  Besides his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Bill Milam and Mark Milam; his sister, Inez Milam Lakey.
