Click Here To View Video Memorial TributeComo, MS - Virginia "Virgie" Russell Fulcher Taylor, age 92, formerly of Yazoo City, MS, passed away Sunday morning, October 9, 2011 at Baptist Memorial Hospital of North MS in Oxford, MS.
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at the Como United Methodist Church in Como, MS with Rev. Tom Atkins officiatting. Visitation will begin one hour prior to the funeral service. Following the funeral service, there will be another visitation at Stricklin-King Funeral Home in Yazoo City, MS beginning at 3:00 P.M. Tuesday afternoon with a graveside service to follow at 4:00 P.M. in Glenwood Cemetery there in Yazoo City, MS. Wells Funeral Home of Batesville, MS in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Taylor was born April 27, 1919 in Earle, Arkansas to the late A.H. and Alice Fitzgerald Russell. She was an assistant manager for Sear's in Yazoo City, MS for 25 years, and was a house mother at All Saints Episcopal School in the 1980's. Then upon moving to Como, MS, she owned Fulcher's Grocery. Mrs. Taylor was a faithful and active member of Como United Methodist Church. In her spare time, she loved to travel and was always doting on her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Taylor is survived by daughter, Linda Fulcher Jackson (Charles) of Oxford, MS; four grandchildren and their spouses, Cindy Meade (Curtis) of Piperton, TN, Diane Carter (Jeff) of Hattiesburg, MS, Susan Bouchillon (Glynn) of Senatobia, MS, Chuck Jackson (Rachel) of Senatobia, MS; six great-grandchildren, DeeAnn Williams, Lauren Carter, Lindsey Carter, Linlee Bouchillon, Lizzie Jackson and Lee Taylor Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her two husbands, Wiley P. Fulcher of Yazoo City, MS and W.S. Taylor, Jr. of Como, MS.
