Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel. Interment with military honors will follow at Forrest Memorial Park in Batesville, MS. Visitation will begin one hour prior to services at 10:00 A.M.
Sonny was born December 23, 1932 in Sardis, MS to the late Jessie Lee and Maggie Ruth Groner Still. Mr. Still attended Blackjack Baptist Church and was an U.S. Air Force Veteren of the Korean War. Sonny retired from the Ms. Department of Corrections after 19 years as a Probation Parole Officer/Field Officer II covering the Lafayette, Grenada, Tallahatchie and Yalobusha Counties of North Mssissippi. He also was a cattle farmer for most of his adult life.
Mr. Still is survived by his wife of 30 years, Elizabeth Howard Still of Sardis, MS; two daughters Natalie Elizabeth Still Williams (Corey) of Sardis, MS, Cheryl Still Singleton of Batesville, MS; two sons, Adam Tyler Still (Jamylee) of Oxford, MS, Darryl Still of Batesville, MS; two brothers, Bobby Still of Pearl, MS, Selma Still of Batesville, MS and six grandchildren, Jackson Tyler Still, Aiden Wyatt Williams, Adigail Katelyn Still, Cole Whitten, Matthew Singleton and Connor Singleton.
Pallbearers will be Benny Champion, Rodney Steele, Jimmy Williams, Richard Johnson, Greg Rhines, Brandon Hollowell, Matthew Robertson, Adam Still and Corey Williams. Honorary Pallbearers are Ralph Keating, Bennie Mason and Selma Groner.
