A Memorial Service will be held 2:00 PM Monday, May 9, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home with Reverend Pat Ludlam officiating. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service.
Mr. Arnold was born December 3, 1932 in Washington, D.C. to the late Capt. Malcolm W. Arnold (MC), USN (formerly of Batesville) and the late Elizabeth Seabrook Arnold of Fairfield, PA. He was the grandson of the late Lex and Minnie Lee Arnold of Sardis, MS. Mr. Arnold moved to Batesville in February 2002 and was a retired Industrial Engineer. He spent 32 years in the garment industry in which he held positions as a Plant Engineer, Plant Manager, and Director of Manufacturing. He spent the last 15 years of his career with Levi Strauss & Co., where he held various engineering positions at the plant and multi-plant levels.
Mr. Arnold was a Life Member of the Marine Corps League, the 2nd Marine Div. Assoc., the VFW and a 32 year member of the American Legion. He was a 32nd degree Mason and a member or Kerbela Shrine Temple in Knoxville, TN. He was a member of First United Methodist Church of Batesville, the Panola County Historical Society and Humane Society. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Lucy Arnold.
Mr. Arnold is survived by his sons, Matthew S. Arnold of League City, TX; and Malcolm W. Arnold, III of Batesville, MS; brother, Kenneth H. Arnold of Blaine, WA; step-son, Gregory Lawson of Rowlett, TX; 6 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.
