Click here to view Video Memorial TributeWinfred H. Harper, husband of Ola Mae Harper, passed away Thursday morning, January 20, 2011 at LeConte Medical Center in Sevierville, TN. Funeral Services for Mr. Harper will be 3:00 PM Sunday, January 23, 2011 at Wells Funeral Home with Rev. Kevin Crofford officiating. Interment to follow at Peachcreek Baptist Church Cemetery. Visistation will be 1-3 PM Sunday, January 23, 2011 prior to the services at Wells Funeral Home. Mr. Harper was born October 15, 1920 in Marks, MS to the late Richard and Birtie Reynolds Harper. He attended Beach Springs Baptist Church in Kodak, TN and served in the United States Army during World War II in New Guinea and Southern Philippines where he was a bridge carpenter. He worked for many years as a carpenter for Chenney & Hope Construction, helping build campgrounds at Sardis, Enid and Arkabutla. Winfred & Ola also owned a grocery store and furniture store in Darling, MS. Mr. Harper loved to fish and hunt with his sons, garden and going to garage sales. His special love was his family and enjoying his grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one son, Ronnie Harper. Winfred is survived by his wife, Ola Mae Smith Harper of Sevierville, TN; son & daugher-in-law, Richey Lynn and Barbara Harper of Sevierville, TN; daughter-in-law, Rhonda Harper Bryant of Batesville, MS; 4 grandchildren, Melisa Harper, Maggie Cote, Jeremiah Harper & Colby Harper and 12 great grandchildren.Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Harper, Colby Harper, Matt Cote, J. C. Harper, Jason Slayton and Jimmy Smith.
