Jerrold Neil Wilson

Batesville, MS; Jerrold "Jerry" Neil Wilson, age 62 died Sunday January 9, 2011 at Tri-Lakes Medical Center. Mr. Wilson is a brother to Myron Wilson. Graveside Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday, January 16, 2011 at Sparta Cemetery in Holcomb, MS with interment to follow with Reverend Joe McDaniel presiding. Mr. Wilson was born March 27, 1948 in Grenada, MS to the late Buster and Nancy Clanton Wilson. He was a Sales Representative for Medical Electronics Distributors, Inc. in Kansas City, MO. He graduated in 1971 from Birmingham Southern University on a Baseball Scholarship, where he was a member of the Baseball Hall of Fame and in 1970 he was also a member of National Championship Dixie League in Birmingham, AL. He is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Ramona Robertson. Survivors include his son, Matthew Scott Wilson of Birmingham, AL; and brother, Myron Wilson of Batesville, MS. Memorials may be made to Birmingham Southern University, Athletic Department, 900 Arkadelphia Road, Birmingham, AL 35254. Honorary Pallbeares will be John Wilson, John Lucius, Jeff Siltman, Burl Reed and Birmingham Southern Teamates.
