Funeral service will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 30, 2010 at Wells Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Atkins offficiating. Interment to follow in Forrest Memorial Park. Visitation will be 12 noon until service time on Thursday. Mrs. Fowler was born October 3, 1937 in Sardis, MS to the late Ernest Franklin and Bessie Mae Appleton. She was a member of Wesley Chapel Methodist Church and preceded in death by her husband Richard Fowler. She worked at Poloran for 10 years and retired with 16 years of service from Thermos. Mrs. Fowler loved Ole Miss Football, girls softball, Dixie Darlings, fishing, weekend excursions with her family, spending time with her grandchildlren and sitting on the front porch and having morning coffee. Mrs. Fowler is survived by her sons, Steven D. Fowler of Charleston, MS; and Mark Leland Fowler of Sardis, MS; sisters, Jewel A. McGehee of Sardis, MS; Dorothy A. Ford of Sardis, MS; and Laura A. Hardin (Aunt Jeanie) of Nesbit, MS; brother, Macel Appleton of Sardis, MS; 2 grandchildren, Harrison Chase Fowler and Jenny Kaye Fowler. The family requests that memorials be made to UT Medical Group-Pancreatic Cancer Research, Attention:  Linda Gray, 7945 Wolf River Blvd., Suite 280, Germantown, TN  38138. Pallbearers will be Johnny McGehee, Preston Lawrence, Gene Parker, Butch Still, Macel Appleton, Jr.  and John Maddux. Honorary pallbearers will be Nolan Mettatol, Jack Jones and Jerry Maddux.
